Right before Setsubun, Yoshiko shows Hanamaru the demon-hugging hat she made. When Hanamaru points out that they have to drive away evil spirits, Yoshiko claims that monsters and humans should be friends, and helps Hanamaru make her own hat.

(Note: “Setsubun,” literally “seasonal division,” is the celebration of spring and the new year in Japan. Thus, it’s customary to cleanse the evil of the previous year by tossing soybeans out the door.)
